Meaning Two Crows in Dhurga Language

of the Yuin Nation, Djiriba Waagura was founded   by Matt Simms and Nigel Millgate.

 

With an aim to revitalise and strengthen Aboriginal culture on the NSW South Coast and beyond, we develop and deliver multifaceted Aboriginal Cultural Programs. From commercial tours and camps to on Country cultural experiences and education based programs and services, our core vision is to empower our local community with a strong focus on our youth.

 

We believe having a strong connection to cultural identity lays solid foundations for our people, empowering and improving our health and wellbeing. Our mission is to build strong communities by nurturing connections to Country and building long term healthy and sustainable relationships.

 

The South Coast of NSW has over 60,000 years of Aboriginal history and is the lands of Yuin people who continue the cultural responsibility of caring for Country and community. Through the knowledge passed down from our ancestors, we aim to share our culture and empower our communities.

 

Education and empowerment underpin our entire focus. Our programs and services use models of best practice to ensure all of our clients and guests leave feeling connected and empowered having learned new skills, knowledge and wisdom.
